Ifeoma Okoronkwo, MD, Clinical Associate Professor, NYU Medical Center / Spinal Sports Occupation Rehabilitation Associates, New York, NY.
Reports a patient: Dr. Okoronkwo (pronounced 'ohk-oh-ron-kwo'), aka "Dr. O.," emanates warmth and compassion. There aren't many MDs on the planet who are also acupuncturists. Dr. Okoronkwo is one of them. As a chronic pain patient, back when I lived in the NYC area, I visited her office for weekly acupuncture treatments, and, because Dr. O is a board-certified MD, my health insurance would fully cover my acupuncture sessions. What a lovely break this was for me, financially and mentally, to be able to greatly reduce my medications and instead focus more on mind/body integration. Dr. Okoronkwo was (is) a healer and an advocate. She's an amazing woman. She sparkles. She shines. She listens. She cares. She's kind. If all doctors were required to take an MD etiquette class from Dr. Okoronkwo, the world would be a better place. And Dr. Okoronkwo ended every office visit with these two departing words, "Be well." I'll never forget that.

Are all doctors dandy? No!
Some physicians are horrible, arrogant, lack compassion, and do poor work. These bad boys n' girls can be found at Doctor Hall of Shame.
